"He was just daddy to us. We did not perhaps realize who he was – as one of the leaders of the modern Civil Rights movement, maybe until much later. And when I say much later, certainly by the time he was killed we understood. Dad was like a playmate to us when he would come home from the various trips that he took around our nation and world he devoted his energy toward satisfying us he did not have a large quantity of time but the quality was really remarkable."
